If you look on Pinterest or Instagram, it seems like everyone is choosing the DIY renovation route. There are some amazing examples of projects people have done themselves and unbelievable before/after examples of the hidden potential of old becoming new. We’re huge fans of DIY, having successfully completed many projects ourselves. As well, we admire many friends and bloggers who are DIY wizards.
BUT
DIY isn’t the right choice for everyone or every project. While we fully support anyone’s ambition to take on projects themselves we want to help you make an informed decision when choosing the DIY route.
Some of the assumptions we make about DIY renovation include:

- it’s cheaper
- it will add value to our home and life
- we will do it right
