One Room Challenge – Week 4 – Patio and Fire Pit Area
Week 4 Well, we made more progress than we thought we would with being committed for most of the long weekend. Fortunately, I was able to get some painting done Friday morning and Sean’s sister has been a HUGE help in lending a hand as needed, moving sand and supporting us with taking care of our Little, among other things.
What we accomplished this week:
Moved sand into place to put pavers on this weekend
Assembled painted table and chairs
Partially assembled arbour (ran out of new nuts and bolts)
Cut fleece for coordinating blankets
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly this Week:
Good: We actually made some progress and are determined to finish laying the pavers this weekend. We also have had amazing family support to help us out. Including Rudy who has been “helping” by keeping track of his ball throughout the process.
Bad: Some silly mistakes: mixed up which side of 2 broads needed painting for the first tier, should have sprayed the table and chair legs, didn’t have enough nuts and bolts for the arbour (store ran out).
Ugly: We have a lot left to do and struggling to fit it in with our Little needing care and attention.
Focus to the Finish
We need to get the pavers laid so we can start bringing the space together. We’re a little worried we ordered too many pavers but figure we can use them on the tiers if we have some spare. Then we need to get the fire pit together, shelving in the shed to create the bar drink prep area and planting the planters with mosquito repellent plants around the light poles.
Don’t forget to check out the featured designers and other guest participants of the Spring 2019 One Room Challenge!
Cheers,
Denise and Sean
Itβs sooo hard to get projects done with littles around! Hoping you get ahead of schedule this week!
Thanks π On schedule would be great, ahead would be AMAZING!
Wow, it sounds like you have been working hard. Moving sand and pavers…ugh! I bet you’ll be happy when that’s done π I can’t wait to see how it all comes together.
It’s been a lot of work and frustrating more isn’t done. We’re getting there, though! Looking forward to putting our feet up by the for with a glass of wine
